Recharge Rates

GCRC Category "D" Industry Study Rates

A recharge index is required prior to the first patients being seen on the unit. The GCRC will recharge your study index on a monthly basis. Invoices are sent to study coordinators.

Administrative Review and Startup Fees $350

Charged to all studies

Facility Fees - Outpatient Visits

  1. Facility fee for visits 30 minutes or less - $15
  2. Facility fee for visits over 30 minutes = $25
  3. Facility only visits - $25 per visit

Nursing, Nutritionist Time, DEXA, Exercise Studies

  1. Nursing or nutritionist time will be counted and rounded up to the nearest quarter hour. The charge is $35/hr.
  2. Any nursing or nutritionist visits off site (not done at the CRC) will be charged at $35/hr.
  3. DEXA scan - $80
  4. Exercise testing (treadmill with metabolic cart)$100/hour

Inpatient Days

The bed charge (7/05) is $1400 (midnight census). The Medical Center will adjust the bed charge to our cost (7/05 - $894.36). Research rates for additional ancillary charges should be negotiated with the provider and included as possible expenses on bulk account applications.

CRC Core Laboratory

The Core Laboratory does not usually perform assays for category D studies. Industry studies requiring special assays preformed in the Core Laboratory will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and charged according to the cost of performing a particular assay. The cost will be determined by the Core Laboratory Director, Paul Mills, or the Core Lab Manager, Srikrishna Khandrika at x36796.

Computer/Statistician

Computer and statistician services for industry studies are only provided on a time available basis and will be recharged.

  • $45/hr for Computer/Informatics Manager Consultation
  • $73/hr for Statistician Consultation

Meals

If outpatient research subjects require meals, contact the GCRC Nutritionist at x36795. Provide a recharge index number for the Medical Center kitchen to order meal trays. A snack of muffin, juice and coffee can be provided by the CRC for fasting studies or long outpatient visits.
